Building Community with One Kind Word

2021 didn’t slow down our community support – whether we were working together or apart. And it sure didn’t trip up our non-profit partners, Jack.org or Chai Lifeline, either.

One Kind Word

The pandemic has upended community participation. But giving doesn’t just fall on individuals. We believe corporate giving has an important role to play as well.

Together with our amazing team, we matched funds and mobilized to raise tens of thousands of dollars for our deserving partners this year. Our rallying cry was “One Kind Word”, an ode to the impact that a heartfelt word or gesture of support can have.

Here’s a quick recap of some of this year’s community support highlights.

Jack.org Ride

In late May, our team participated in our sixth-annual Jack.org Ride, raising more than $18,500 to fund youth mental health support services and training. We had a team of walkers, runners and cyclists who participated, spurred on by our equally passionate cheer squad of Zeifmans partners and staff. A few dedicated cyclists challenged themselves, accomplishing a 125-km full-day ride with their in-person or virtual cycling group.

Spirit Week

During the summer, we enjoyed a week of team building and fundraising activities. Our 50/50 draw paid off for one lucky winner, and thanks to the support of staff and partners, we were able to further support each of our non-profit partners.

Chai Lifeline

A week away at summer camp is a magical experience for any child. This year, we sponsored and packed camp kits for Chai Lifeline’s Camp Lifeline Away. This one-week camp is for kids aged 6 to 13 who have a close family member with a serious illness, providing a much-needed dose of summer fun. And you can’t rock summer camp without the gear!

All of our partners and staff signed a note of hope for the campers and their families, sharing a kind word and best wishes.

Giveback Thursdays

Going into the holiday season, we thought it was a great opportunity to support our staff’s charitable giving and amplify their community impact. On Giveback Thursdays, Zeifmans supported a different team member each week and donated to their chosen charitable organization. It’s been a great way to learn more about each other, and the causes and charities that matter most to us, while giving a kind word of support and praise to local charities who have been working in overdrive.

A year-end retrospective

Our team has stepped up time and again this year, selflessly sharing their time and donating funds in support of our community partners. We’ve learned that one kind word can generate a wave of momentum and we’re carrying that with us in 2022.
